Impact Stories

Impact: Beyond the Design

As a consultant in this industry, I have the unique opportunity to wear many hats. Much of my experience derives from being with a customer start to finish. Fortunately, this has provided not only technical experience, but the sales and customer-success pieces along with it. The projects having the largest impact on our customers are those that see a familiar face from beginning to end. The references below highlight projects in which I felt were most impactful for our clients and myself as I continue to grow.

Fully Redundant Wireless Network Deployment

One of my current projects involves a customer from the Aerospace industry. The customer is looking to upgrade outdated machinery and wanted two new, redundant wireless networks to support new roaming machines. The wireless links need to transmit PROFINET among other forms of priority traffic as we implement a safety over wireless design. This includes a full network design and install, including new Stratus servers, domain configuration, firewalls, all switching, access points and adhering to over 300 customer and government requirements.

VMware HA Server Cluster

I worked to implement a new highly available VMware server cluster for a customer near Chicago. The customer had minimal downtime and I worked with our systems teams to ensure new servers would be configured appropriately. This included configuring 4 physical nodes: a witness, vSANs 1/2 and a VEEAM Backup Server. Moreover, I configured a Tape Backup machine and developed policy to move structured data backups offsite. We worked closely with the systems teams to deploy a new AD, implement domain policy, configure RDS and furnish new application servers.

Network Audits, Gap Analysis & Design Proposals

From 2024-2026 I worked with a large steel client out of northern Indiana to redesign their network backbone. This included auditing the plant, offering the solution as it adhered to our gap analysis, and managed contractors for enclosure and conduit installations. All network infrastructure from the distribution level downwards was replaced with some areas added. We configured all hardware in-house, performed a FAT on-site and coordinated a commissioning plan that would span approximately eight months. Each end-device at the site had to be re-IP'd and physically validated during commissioning.

Throughout 2025, I completed twelve network assessments for various clients in oil & gas, discrete manufacturing, consumer packages goods, food & beverage and power & energy clients. While this was by far the most audits I've ever completed in one year, it taught me the similarities and discrepancies between industries. I was able to pick up on concepts that were unique to some and common in others. I could then translate this to future clients and provide a sense of comfortability through my experience. Ultimately, this led to my gap analysis' process being more refined and efficient by deploying design proposals quicker.

Nozomi Monitoring Implementation

Organizational Standards & Policy Design

A company based in the USA had upgraded their DCS system in multiple countries including Columbia, Mexico and France. The goal of the client was to redesign the DMZ for full, physical separation and then implement Nozomi so corporate could monitor and access the network.  I worked as the lead engineer to perform network assessments at each site to identify how traffic could be funneled back to Nozomi. We then took a second trip to install and reconfigure hardware with limited downtime windows. This was a unique project as I worked across multiple sites globally to ensure the topology was replicated correctly, blending existing infrastructure and fiber where we could.

Organizational Standards & Policy Design

I worked hand in hand with a pharmaceutical company in Ireland and UK to develop a package of documents related to their new "OT Security Standards" that were applied company wide in 2026. This included working closely with their teams to determine policy, set standards adherent to the industry and effectively document them to be sponsored by the company..

Restaurant Manager

In 2019, while completing school, I sought a job at a local nightclub as the lighting coordinator. My job was largely focused on designing and operating the lighting scheme for various public and private events. I have always had a passion for this and self-taught my way through lighting config through my high school years. This introduced me to the owner who then invited me to work at his other ventures in 2020 as a server. Him and I worked closely together and with my technical background I was able to bring a unique set of skills and knowledge to the company. By 2022, I was promoted to the Operations Manager overseeing all three bars and restaurants in the company and offered a managing partner stake in the newest concept. This experience was extremely important for me as I developed skills in the professional business world that are unlikely for a 23 year old. I networked with phenomenal people and endured the ins and outs of running a business without assuming the risk of it.

Throughout my tenure there, I introduced a handful of projects to enhance the business and drive sales via our golden 'customer experience' standard.

 Examples of these projects include:

  1. Projector Mapping during the pandemic. In addition to the traditional nightclub experience, we worked together to introduce a projection mapping experience for customers to experience while dancing was not permitted.
  2. Rollout of three new websites, with reservation and gift card integration. Additionally introducing methods for customers to contact management.
  3. Rollout of a new Point-of-Sale system with backend cloud access, mobile friendly features and integration into our employee software.
  4. Rollout of a new employee/HR and scheduling software. Traditionally, we operated largely by text and email. Introducing this brought a single 'all in one' place for our staff to view documentation, communicate and work on the same page.
  5. Rollout of an online training platform and associated content for employees of all roles. This was a key item missing and driving a ton of unnecessary stress for us. We worked to develop videos, images and quizzes to be included in a learning path style training system that could be accessed by the employees via web or app. Automations were integrated with other systems to where onboarding was a seamless for new-hires and management.
  6. Rollout of an inventory tracking system which automatically imports deliveries from our vendors through receipt images, quick mobile count features alongside easily viewable stats. Tracking inventory is a critical part of any restaurant as you can clearly see where dollars fall short -- down to the ounce. We would meet with all management teams weekly to review our inventory.
  7. Continuously reviewing sales data, inventory stats and feedback from our staff and customers on our menu and using that info to redevelop our menu, push new initiatives, events and drive customers inside. We would push seasonal items, specials and uniquely crafted cocktails to bring more people in the door. By doing so we created a loyal fanbase that enjoy a diverse and 'fun' menu.
  8. Lastly, I worked closely with ownership to develop a gold standard 'customer experience'. This was our idea of separating ourselves from our competitors by giving guests a remarkable experience from the moment they set foot in the door. This motto pushed the ideology of doing the 'little things' for the customers that aren't too common in the industry. Greetings, politeness, clean environments, and always asking how we can help completely redefined our standard of the expectations for guests. These little things add up and eventually keep customers coming back, despite being in a high traffic tourist area.

One of my side hobbies since college have always been DJ'ing for my friends. Eventually, this turned into a side hustle that I'm still working on today. I really enjoy DJ'ing weddings, bars and private parties in my free time. Moreover, I love intelligent lighting and freelance work to design and configure stage events through Grand MA, HOG and ADJ solutions. The enjoyment I receive coordinating an event such as a wedding and seeing everyone happy, smiling, dancing to the music is an unmeasurable feeling.
